Program Overview

The Department of Justice and Political Studies offers degree programs leading to a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, Bachelor of Arts in International Studies/ International Affairs, Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, and a Master of Science in Criminal Justice Administration.

Educational Outcomes

Criminal Justice

Program Objectives:

  1. Enhance Academic Enterprise
  2. Increase retention and graduation rates
  3. The Department will create social media pages to highlight the events and accomplishments of departmental faculty and students.

Student Learning Outcomes:

  1. The students will analyze paradigms within a criminal justice framework while relating to issues involving the criminal justice system and society. 
  2. The students will identify and apply criminal justice concepts and principles in selecting and applying possible solutions that take into consideration the impact of problems in society. 
  3. The students will apply various research methods in problem solving through research papers and presentations. 
  4. The students will identify and differentiate between the federal, state, and local criminal justice systems.
  5. The students will apply communication skills and group relations skills, social interactions with members of diverse groups.

Political Science

Program Objectives:
