NU 282 - Health Assessment4 Credit Hours Prerequisite: Acceptance into the Nursing Program. This theory/lab course focuses on the theoretical basis and psychomotor skills used when assessing the health status of individuals emphasizing cultural diversity, age-related differences, and lifestyle factors. The theoretical content introduces the role of the professional nurse in identifying and communicating normal findings and common deviations from normal. The laboratory experience provides the opportunity to apply cognitive and psycho-motor skills while incorporating caring, in performing a systematic, client-centered health assessment. (FA,SP)
