AI 497 - Senior Design I - AI System Design 3 Credit Hours Senior Design I - AI System Design
This course is the first of a two-sequence capstone courses for Applied Artificial Intelligence majors. Students, working in teams, select a topic from a variety of potential project topics solicited from faculty members and representatives from local industry/non-profit organizations. Students will learn about team work, team dynamics, and learn to rely on other individuals to perform necessary work for the successful completion of team goals. By the end of the semester, the overall approach and design/architecture of the project must be completed so that it can be effectively implemented, in the second semester. The course also includes lectures on topics of interest to AAI majors. Students must also take the comprehensive senior examination for the major. Corequisite: AI 431 - Deep-Reinforcement Learning
AI 451 - Generative AI (GANs, VAEs, Diffusion Models) Prerequisite: A “C” or better in:
AI 332 - Deep Learning II
AND AI 351 - Transformer Models and Large Language Models (LLMs)
