The Bachelor of Arts in Music Education is designed for students who plan to teach Music in grades K-12.

Major Requirements


Admission to the Program

Admission to the program in Music Education is specified under the admission section for the School of Education.

Requirements

The students are required to satisfy General Education requirements, requirements in the School of Education, and requirements in the area of specialization. In addition, students must satisfy all requirements specified by the Florida State Department of Education. A minimum of 129 Hours is required. Additional Hours may be specified. Students must meet with their academic student success coach to ensure proper matriculation and timely program completion.

*Based on your placement testing scores, these courses may require prerequisites which may extend the number of semesters needed to complete degree requirements. These prerequisites do not count towards the degree for graduation.

**MARCHING BAND MEMBERS ONLY, MUST substitute PE Activity with MUB 110 - Marching Band .

**ROTC MEMBERS ONLY, substitute PE Activity with MY 104 - Basic Military Science  and MYL 104 MY 104 - Basic Military Science . (ROTC)
