Petrock College of Health Sciences


The  Petrock College of Health Sciences is committed to forging a bold path to health in our communities. It works to suffuse Health Equity, Aging and Lifespan Health, and Health Policy/Advocacy into all of its programs. These programs include the Department of Aging Studies, the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, the Department of Public Health and Health Equity, the Department of Counseling and the Wildcat Health Professions Program.

Vision

The College of Health Sciences is dedicated to achieving wellness in diverse communities through education, community engagement, and relevant research.

Mission

Address the health needs of the local and global community by focusing on excellent education and professional preparation of students while ensuring significant immersion in community health and leadership on policy initiatives.

Outcomes

  • Uphold and model the core values of Bethune-Cookman University.  These values are faith, integrity, respect, service, and thirst for knowledge.

  • Apply the principles of ethics to my interaction with others, care of patients and clients, academic pursuit, research endeavors and expression of thought.

  • Display and model professionalism in all of my career, community, personal, and institutional relationships

  • Engage in inter-professional and interdisciplinary endeavors to strengthen and augment my knowledge, skill, and attitudes.

  • Demonstrate competence at the highest level (excellence) in my chosen health profession, academic studies, community service, clinical and field experiences, and public speaking.

  • Represent Bethune-Cookman University positively in all of my internship/practicum, clinical rotation, employment, and community interactions.
