A survey of the multifarious roles of music in Christian worship, with emphasis on worship music from the perspective of theology, philosophy, anthropology, sociology, and psychology; worship music as tradition, culture, history, and pedagogy; worship music as a means of prayer, praise, meditation, spiritual formation, and healing; and worship music as used in other religious traditions of the world.
