BI 230 - Introduction to Cellular and Molecular Biology4 Credit Hours Prerequisite: BI 142, CH 142, or permission of the instructor This course will emphasize the structure and function of cells in all their genetic, biochemical, developmental, physiological and pathophysiological aspects. This course will introduce students to the dynamic relationships between cell structure and the processes that are necessary for cellular maintenance and metabolism in both prokaryotes and eukaryotes. The format of the course will consist of class lectures (which primarily draw on information found in the textbook), in-class discussion of topics related to the lecture material, and analysis of assigned research articles.
