HM 331 - Hospitality Legal Environment & Risk Mgmt

3 Credit Hours
Prerequisite: HM 110  & HM 240 . This course will introduce the student to the laws and regulations applicable to, and provide an understanding of the basic foundations and principles of the laws affecting the hospitality industry. The purpose of this course is to introduce the student to the laws and regulations that influence business and management decisions in the hospitality industry.  It is designed to provide the student with guidelines and techniques that show them how to manage preventatively and apply a practical legal awareness to their actions. The course will focus on the Legal Fundamentals for the hospitality industry which include negligence, relationships with guests, contracts, and liability and the sale of food and alcohol. (SP)
