NU 303 - Adult Health I6 Credit Hours Prerequisite: NU 284 , NU 285 . This theory/clinical course is the first of a series of courses that focuses on the acquisition and application of the theoretical basis for safe, evidence-based, patient-centered nursing care for the patient undergoing various medical/surgical interventions. This course focuses on care that is developmentally and culturally appropriate and emphasizes the nurse’s skill as care giver and communicator. The theoretical content incorporates critical thinking, quality improvement, collaboration, and information technology as they relate to the care of diverse patients in both acute care and home environments. It integrates standards of practice, and legal and ethical responsibilities of the professional nurse when caring for patients undergoing medication/surgical interventions. (FA)
