The Bachelor of Science in chemistry is designed for students who are interested in careers which require an extensive background in chemistry. Upon completion of the B.S. degree, the student will have met the minimum major requirements for admission to graduate schools or careers in the chemical industry. The skills and knowledge obtained in the chemistry program are in extremely high demand as they provide a strong background in the chemical and mathematical approaches utilized by the private and public sectors as well as academia and health. A concentration in Biochemistry is also available. Interested students should contact the Department Chair for course requirements. Students planning to enter graduate schools are encouraged to participate in one of the ongoing research projects in the School of Science, Engineering, and Mathematics.
