CON 621 - Foundations of Trauma

This course provides an understanding of trauma and human responses to traumatic events. Discussion includes identify the core conceptions, risk factors, types, and developmental impacts of trauma. The effect of individual, familial and community response will be studied. Current and historical theoretical frameworks of trauma, traumatic stress, and trauma recovery will be explored throughout the course. This course will also examine the association between trauma and mental health diagnosis.
