BI 322 - Principles of Modern Microbiology 4 Credit Hours This course is designed to introduce students (biology and science majors) to viruses, prokaryotic and eukaryotic microbes as well as the many facets of modern microbiology including metabolism, growth, behavior, development, systematics, ecology, infection, epidemiology and the human exploitation of microbes. Laboratory practice includes the application of techniques of classical and modern microbiology. The class meets three times a week for one-hour lecture and one time a week for a three-hour lab. Corequisite: N/A Prerequisite: BI 240 and CH 241 .
