PHIL 355 - Philosophy and Education

This course will introduce students to the philosophy of education through a close reading and discussion of key foundational texts as well as more contemporary, critical works. Education raises questions not only about the nature of knowledge and its transmission, but equally about power and its circulation. This course will examine the intersection of those questions as we reflect on the meaning of education and its role in contemporary society.
Prerequisite: EN 132 , PHIL 235
