EN 131 - College English I 3 Credit Hours This is the first of two sequential courses in freshman writing covering various rhetorical strategies. This course emphasizes developing skills for navigating the stages of writing, including pre-writing, organizing, drafting, revising and editing. Students are required to write a minimum of 6,000 words through informal writing activities, formal essays, and a documented paper. Students should be prepared to write extensively in this course and have their work reviewed through instructor conferences. Prerequisite: EN 095 or an acceptable score on the B-CU placement test, SAT, or ACT.
