E 230 - Introduction to Electric Circuits 3 Credit Hours A study of the principles of direct-current (DC) circuits, alternating-current (AC) circuits, Ohm’s and Kirchohoff’s laws and their application to electric circuits. Thevenin and Northon’s theorems, RC, RL and RLC circuits. Application of phasor diagrams in the analysis of AC circuits. Time domain solutions of first and second order circuit equations. Introduction to operational amplifiers. There is a laboratory component to this course. Corequisite: PH 252 . Prerequisite: PH 251 .
