BI 244 - Microbiology and Lab 4 Credit Hours A study of morphology, physiology, nutrition and growth of microbes, including taxonomy and practical identification of the major microbial groups. Other topics to be discussed include immunology and the role of microorganisms in public health, industrial processes, and the cycle of nature. Laboratory practice includes use of the microscope, aseptic technique, media preparation, and microbiological experimentation. Prerequisite: For all but nursing: BI 142 , CH 141 , or permission of the instructor.
Lecture Hours: Lecture 3 hours per week. Lab Hours: Lab 3 hours per week.
