MAT 498 - Senior Seminar I

3 Credit Hours

Prerequisite: Senior standing in mathematics. A “C” or higher in all 200 and 300-level required mathematics courses. Required of all senior mathematics majors. The aim of the seminar is to prepare the student for MAT 499 by giving the student experience in presenting mathematical ideas and in listening critically to the presentations of others. Each student is assigned a faculty student success coach who guides the student in selecting the material to be read. Students will meet frequently with their student success coach to discuss topics studied. The student will prepare to write a senior paper on the topics and give a public presentation of their work. The student will also review for the senior comprehensive exam. (FA)
