MAT 431 - Abstract Algebra I

Prerequisite: A grade of “C” or higher in both MAT 331 and MAT 253. This course is an introduction to the basic concepts in abstract algebra. Topics in the two Credit sequence include groups, subgroups, group homomorphisms, rings, ring homomorphisms, ideals, quotient rings, polynomial rings, and fields. (FA)
