E 436 - Digital Signal Processing3 Credit Hours Prerequisite: E 230 , MAT 242 , MAT 334 . Corequisite: EL 436L A study of the fundamental principles and concepts of Digital Signal Processing (DSP). Course coverage includes discrete-time signals and systems, Ztransforms, discrete convolution and Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT). Analog-to-Digital conversion (ADC), Digital-to-Analog conversion (DAC) and digital filter design are also covered. In the laboratory, a programmable DSP board and a software package for digital signal processing are used for data acquisition, filter implementation, convolution calculations, signal modeling and real-time filtering. MATLAB software with Simulink is used in the laboratory for DSP algorithm design and analysis.
