GR 390 - Psychology of Aging3 Credit Hours Prerequisite: SO 131, PS 230 or permission of the instructor, and GR 231. The effects of senescence and adaptation to such effects on the psychological variables of sensory and perceptual processes, psychomotor performance, personality, socialization and primary and secondary relationships. Psychosocial adaptation of the elderly to death and dying, bereavement, widowhood, and theology. Emphasis is on a holistic, preventive approach to the psychosocial aspects of aging for both well and non-well elderly. Emphasis is on psychosocial aspects of aging indigenous to blacks.
